Population and Housing Census 2022

The National Bureau of Statistics will be conducting the Population and Housing Census and the Voters’ Census concurrently, in April 2022.

This national project will require that temporary staff be employed on a casual basis to assist with data collection from all households.

You are invited to register on our website (using the link given below), or through email, for inclusion on the database used to identify potential candidates for casual employment positions on temporary contract.

Individuals aged 18 years and above are encouraged to register as long as they meet the recruitment criteria as stipulated in the table below.

Location: Opportunities exist to work in different districts in this nationwide project.

Contract: Temporary

An employment contract in the form of a Terms of Reference document will be provided stipulating:

  • Work duration
  • Tasks
  • Remuneration and other conditions

The Terms of Reference will serve as an appointment of the individual by the Census Commissioner.

Working tools: Those who will be employed will be issued with work tools and will be paid after: 

  1. Having satisfactorily completed the assignment
  2. The tools have been returned in the condition that they were issued

Time frame: 22 – 30 April 2022

Remuneration for enumerators: SCR 5,000

Required Skills / Competencies


Fieldwork/Data Collection in  Population & Housing Census; Voters’ Census

Going door-to-door to collect information from households / individuals

 Good communication skills

 Previous experience in survey data collection and related work, will be an added advantage

Ability to operate a mobile device


Data capturing

Capturing of information on tablets

Familiar with and able to use a smart  phone or other mobile device

Ability to follow instructions and work in a team  under supervision

Computer literacy is desirable




Supervision of any of the above categories where necessary

Supervisory experience

Ability to lead a team and act as liaison between field and office/representative
